Happy 6-6-6!

Just wanted to wish you all a happy 6/6/6.

If you're worried about bad things happening today, you might feel a little bit better if I let you in on a little DaVinci-code type secret: The number of the beast is really 616, and we got through January just fine.

As an interesting side note, I think this papyrus was found after Southern Hills church of Christ changed their address from 666 Buffalo Gap Rd. Oh, the waste of letterhead!

Oh sh*t! If Nero is out I'm screwed.
I guess Karl Rove is out?
Tom DeLay? Hitler? Stalin?
616? How about 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?
I have always assumed that all of the number of man imitating god (6 and 3)crapola was going to last forever or atleast until Damien established his world order.
616? Somebody had better phone Jack Van Skimpy...I nominate you!

Well, Hitler and Stalin are probably out 'cause they're dead.

I'd still put money on Tom DeLay, though.

And *no*, I will not call Jack Van Skimpy.

No.

What if this is the New World Order and Nero was the AntiChrist?
Maybe all of the real Christians were raptured? What if THIS is the Tribulation and it has lasted 2000 years?
What if John didn't have a clue what Daniel was talking about?

Wouldn't 6/1/6 be June 1st?

Depends on how you write your dates. If you're European, or, as in my case, if your boss is former military, you probably write your dates d/m/y and not m/d/y.

Either way, we're safe.

Shoot - that would have been great stationary!

Guess there's no 666 area code or we would have heard about it when the earthquakes and hurricanes hit...

Has anyone else here ever apologized before leading "I Am Thine, O Lord" (#666 in SFP) at church?

Dubya's not bright enough to be 666. I think I'd have to vote for making him number "zero".

I haven't, but I'll have to do so from now on. Also number 616, whatever it might be.

Now I'm kind of curious. Anybody got a copy of SFP?

616 in SFP is "The Way of the Cross."

I've never heard it before, but it's one of those forgettable hymns from the early 1900's with three verses that all say the same thing, and a chorus that repeats the hymn's title 3 times, interspersed with "it is sweet to know, as I onward go...".

As much as I love hymns, I'm always amazed that there are ones like this that get mixed in. Oh well, it's probably somebody's favorite.

Did not Martin Luther write: "I am much freer now that I know the Pope is the Antichrist"?

Ah, yes. I believe the first verse says something about it being "sweet to walk in the blood-sprinkled way". Yuck. I guess you have to make the best of it when there's "no other way but this."

So Not-Trent Not-Seth, is your profile image a flying space Bible? 'Cause if it is, that would make a great sci-fi series.

Never thought of my profile picture as a flying space Bible before... It is if you want it to be. I now can picture myself as the first missionary outer space! Sweet...

So who do you try to convert if you're a space missionary?

I will just look straight ahead, cruising space on board my space ship, space Bible in hand. Anyhoo, I got to the grocery store on 6/6/2006, and the check out boy looked at me and smiled: "It'll be £6.66".

Now I may be the Antichrist... I guess I'll try and sell the receipt on eBay.

When's the next post, Matthew?
