Three things.
Thing #1: The frequency at which I post to this blog.
It needs to be more consistent. Occasionally, I'll drop something every day; more recently, I've been posting once, maybe twice a week. And if you care to read my stuff, it must be annoying to check and not find anything.
So here's the deal: I'll post something every Monday and Thursday. I may post more frequently, but if you've been taking periodic hits of the crack cocaine that is my blog, here's a schedule for you: Monday and Thursday.
Maybe not crack cocaine. Maybe more like cigarettes.
Maybe a foot rub?
Thing #2: Book tag! I like books. I think I'll briefly respond to Paul's blanket book tag.

Thing #3: A question for you smart people.
Today at lunch, a bunch of us were talking about the appropriate relationship between the church pulpit and politics. One of us insinuated that racism is prevalent in the church. Several others questioned that assertion.
So are my questions to you:
Is there significant racism in the Christian church?
And what makes you think there is, or isn't?

We're in a strange synchronicity here... My post today is going to be about how I need to post a bit less frequently to my blog! After today it will be M,W,and Friday - and more if I have time.
I'm trying to think of a frequency that will be a bit less time consuming but still enough postings that people will want to click. To me, it's only click-discouraging if maybe three or four days go by with no new post and no explanation.
I don't know what kind of pain that pain book of yours refers to, but if I could have been sitting near Jesus when he was on the Mount, I would have gone, "Pssss! How's this for maybe another beatitude? 'Blessed are those for whom pain is only a metaphor.'"
Unlike Carly Simon, who "didn't have time for the pain," it's lousy when the pain has all the time in the world for you.
So much for poor me. As to prejudice in the church, the only thing I have to note in my limited church-going experience is that the churches I've happened to belong to or visit have been basically all black or all white.
U.S. troop are anti-Christian. Proof positive at http://antiChristiantroops.blogspot.com. Christians can't support satan's army.
So, I figured I'd put in my two cents. I don't think its so much the Church is racist, or prejudice, but the people who make up the Church body. "People are stupid" really, a person might be smart, intelligent, well read, a prominent member of society, have several "Otherly colored" friends, and when you put him in a group, they become Sheep. I know, you're saying, "Sheep are nice, sheep are friendly" but they are not really, they are just too stupid to know any better, but heaven help you if you get in front of a stampede.
So, is the church racist? I dunno. Do people judge other people? Definitely. That is life, the only thing that makes you rise above, is how you handle it.
